Erbium Laser Resurfacing

laser-skin-resurfacing

Laser skin resurfacing is a proven facial rejuvenation procedure that helps reduce wrinkles, age spots, acne scars, and other blemishes as well as improve skin tone and textures.

Erbium laser resurfacing is one of the laser skin resurfacing that our Lazaderm Med Spa in Chandler, AZ offers. The treatment is designed to remove superficial and moderately deep lines and wrinkles on the face, offering dramatic improvement in the appearance of the skin.

The process entails ablating, or removing, the outermost layer of the skin, revealing smoother, younger-looking skin beneath. The laser targets water in the skin issues to promote further collagen production and tightening of the skin that will continue for months following treatment.

After several weeks, the pinkness of the exposed skin will lighten to reveal the normal tone, yet with a softer, smoother, and younger appearance.

Who Is a Good Candidate For Laser Resurfacing?

If you are concerned with aging lines like fine lines or wrinkles around your eyes, mouth or forehead, then an erbium laser is a good option for you.

The procedure, however, is not recommended for use on darker skin tones for the risk of hyperpigmentation. If you have darker skin, consider other skin resurfacing options such as microneedling, BBL, or chemical peels. It’s recommended that you should discuss with our physicians/aestheticians before the procedure to find out your best-fit treatment options.

When Should I have Laser Skin Resurfacing?

The fall and winter seasons are the perfect time of the year to have erbium laser resurfacing. The laser-treated skin is hypersensitive to sun exposure so it’s better to do it during the cold seasons.

Our aestheticians highly suggest that you should continue wearing sunscreen regardless of the seasons. Sunscreen can help maintain your optimal results while preventing premature aging.

What should you expect during erbium laser resurfacing?

An Erbium Laser procedure can vary from 15 minutes to slightly over an hour, depending on the treatment parts. Our doctor will apply a local anesthetic to reduce the sensation and ensure patient comfort. Generally, erbium recovery time is faster compared to other laser surfacing because less of the surroundings are affected.
