Pores are the small openings at the top of hair follicles. Large pores on the face can affect one’s self-esteem. They also increase the likelihood of other skin problems such as blackheads and acne.

At Lazaderm Laser & Aesthetics, we offer various procedures that can help improve the appearance of large pores.

Causes

Genetics: Large pores are often inherited. If you have family members who experience large pores, you are more likely to have more severe breakouts than others.

Acne: Large pores and acne are usually seen together. Large pores are a sign of excessive sebum production. People who produce more sebum oil tend to have acne breakouts more often.

Combination Skin: People with combination skin are more likely to have large pores. Combination skin typically produces extra sebum to compensate for the lack of water moisture. This increases the chance of developing clogged pores and makes the large pores appear even larger.

Blackhead: Blackhead is another condition commonly associated with large pores. When a pore gets clogged with sebum oil, a blackhead forms. Blackheads can make pores look larger and can increase the pore size by expanding the area of your pores.

Sun damage:  Sun damage can cause the skin to thicken and enlarge pores. Excessive sun exposure results in the reduction of collagen, elastin, and water in the skin. The tissues under the skin, as a result, shrink and pull, making pores sag and become enlarged.

Natural Aging Process: With age, skin loses its elasticity, which makes the skin sag and pores appear larger. Skin also thickens over time, causing skin cells to collect around the nose, making pores look even bigger.

Excessive production of sebum oil: An excessive amount of sebum oil, combined with dead skin cells and water, can gather in your pores and make them appear larger than usual.

Large Pore Treatments

Our MedSpa offers a variety of effective treatments to reduce the size and visibility of your large pores.

BroadBand Light

BroadBand Light therapy uses the world's most powerful intense pulsed light. The procedure uses high-intensity and broad-spectrum light rays to target deeper layers of the skin. The result is a fresh, firm and glowing appearance.

Facials

Our facial treatment, HydraFacial MD, is 30 minutes of relaxation that can effectively reduce the size and appearance of large pores. The procedure also moisturizes, nourishes and removes dead skin cells, resulting in a more youthful appearance.

Microneedling with Radiofrequency

This procedure is a non-invasive technique that uses microneedles to improve skin problems such as large pores, fine lines, wrinkles, skin laxity and acne scars. It also stimulates the production of collagen, which is important in maintaining youthful skin.

Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels are considered a skin resurfacing technique. The aesthetician applies a chemical solution to exfoliate the skin. Chemical peels can range from light to deep, depending on your skin condition and skin needs.
